Welcome to Virginia Credit Union!

Member One members, we’re glad you’re here. As we move toward April 20, we’ve put together this hub for important updates and guidance, helping you stay informed through every step.

Personal banking

As you make the move to Virginia Credit Union, we’re here with you through every step. We’ve gathered everything you need to navigate your personal banking transition with confidence — from important dates to the updates you’ll make once your new accounts are ready. Get excited for more access to resources, more digital tools, and even more support for your financial success.

What you can do now:

  1. Make sure your contact information is up to date on all your Member One accounts. If you have multiple accounts, it's important to ensure all your information matches across each of them. If you have joint owners, please confirm their information is correct as well.
  2. Download statements that you need for your records. If you have a credit card, you should also download any credit card statements you may need.
  3. Use our handy transition tracker to organize your automatic deposits, deductions (such as bill payments), and transfers in one place. If you use Member One Bill Pay, we'll provide a list of your bill payees (as an eNotice) after you enroll in VACU online banking and eStatements/eNotices.

What you can do starting April 20:

  1. Review your new account number(s) and member number. Both will be mailed to you before conversion weekend. The VACU routing number is: 251082615.
  2. Enroll in online banking, and download the VACU mobile app.
  3. Activate and begin using your VACU debit card. If you have this card number saved anywhere (such as online merchants), be sure to update to the new number.
  4. Be sure to reestablish transfers and payments. Any direct deposits scheduled around the time of conversion weekend will still go through, but we encourage you to update your new account information as soon as you can.

Online banking

Starting on April 17 at 9 am, access to Member One’s online and mobile banking will no longer be available as part of our system conversion.

Starting April 20, you’ll be able to enroll in Virginia Credit Union online banking and the mobile app. Joint owners on accounts will need to enroll separately in online banking and will only see the accounts they are joint on.

It's important that Member One has your current phone number in order for you to enroll in online banking. Verify your contact information in Member One online or mobile banking or by calling 800-666-8811.

How to enroll in online banking:

  1. Have your contact details ready.
  2. Visit vacu.org/olb or download the app.
  3. Once you've enrolled, check that you see all your accounts. If you use account nicknames, you'll need to reestablish them after logging in. If you use Bill Pay, you can use Bill Pay in VACU online banking after accepting the Terms of Service.

Checking accounts

You'll be receiving details of individual account changes, specific account information, and new account numbers in mid-April to your mailing address on file. Starting April 20, your checking account(s) will convert to VACU checking account(s).

Direct deposits: Direct deposits will need to be reestablished on April 20 with VACU’s routing number and your new account numbers. Starting April 20, you’ll receive your direct deposit on the day it is received by VACU. Please make sure any payments made on your new VACU account utilize this new direct deposit date.

Statements: You will receive a last, partial Member One statement by mail and then will start receiving VACU statements. After you enroll in VACU online banking and eStatements/eNotices, you'll have access to two years of your Member One statements as eNotices.

Debit cards: Prior to April 20, you’ll receive a new VACU debit card. On April 20, you’ll need to activate your new debit card and stop using your Member One debit card. Be sure to update your debit card information anywhere you have it saved (such as with online merchants).

Your VACU debit card has new perks! Your VACU card is contactless, meaning you can enjoy the convenience and security of tapping to pay anywhere the tap to pay icon is displayed. Plus, you can lock and unlock your debit card in the VACU mobile app.

Paper check changes: Starting March 1, you'll no longer be able to order checks through Member One. If you have a checking account and wrote a check within the past 18 months, you'll receive an initial, complimentary set of 80 checks with your new VACU account and routing number.

Your new checks should arrive in early May. You can use your old Member One checks until the new ones arrive; just be sure to destroy your old checks once they do.

Loans and lines of credit

Your loan(s) and line(s) of credit will continue with the same rates, terms, and conditions, but you’ll get a new loan number. Starting April 20, loan payments and payoffs must go to Virginia Credit Union.

If you set up an automatic payment or transfer in Member One’s online banking, you’ll need to set it up again in VACU online banking. Automatic payments set up in a branch or over the phone will continue with no interruptions.

You can also make one-time payments through VACU online banking or VACU Convenience Pay service. If you use the Member One loan payment portal, your payments will not transfer over. You'll need to set them up again through Convenience Pay.

If you pay from another financial institution, be sure to update your account details and the payment address to Virginia Credit Union, P.O. Box 90010, Richmond, VA 23225-9010.

Recurring payments/transfers: Any recurring payments or transfers you previously established within Member One's online banking (or through Bill Pay) will have to be reestablished.

Credit cards

You'll receive your VACU Mastercard in late March. Activate and begin using your new VACU Mastercard on April 11. Once activated on April 11, be sure to destroy your old Member One card. The last day to use your Member One credit card is April 10.

Credit card payments

If you established an automatic payment on your Member One credit card, it will continue. If you have a Member One checking account as the funding source, be sure to update it April 20 with your new VACU account information.

If you set up a one-time payment for April 9 or later, it will not go through from your Member One account. You will have to either schedule the payment to go by April 8 or reestablish a one-time future-dated payment once your new VACU credit card is activated in VACU online banking on April 20.

Once you have enrolled in VACU online banking on April 20, you’ll be able to make payments in online banking and the VACU app.

Starting April 9, you will be unable to conduct a cash advance at our branches. You can still conduct them at our ATMs if you have a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You'll be able to resume cash advances at our branches starting April 21.

Your VACU credit card has new perks! Your VACU card is contactless, meaning you can enjoy the convenience and security of tapping to pay anywhere the tap to pay icon is displayed. Plus, you can lock and unlock your credit card in the VACU mobile app.
