Checking FAQs

How do I reorder checks?

If you have any changes to your personal information, note them on the check order form and please let us know by completing section 1 of the membership application and account signature card.

How much do printed checks cost?

The most economical style is the Virginia Credit Union specialty check. A box of 150 duplicate wallet checks is $17. Contact Member Services at 804-323-6800 or 800-285-6609 for prices on other styles.

How do I change my address?

You can complete our change of address form (PDF) and return it by mail or to any branch. You can also update your address at any time within online banking from the Member Services tab.

As an existing member, how do I open a new checking account?

You may open a checking account in the New Accounts section of online banking if you are enrolled for that service. You can also call Member Services at 804-323-6800 or 800-285-6609, visit a branch or fill out a membership application and account signature card, and mail it to the credit union.

I’ve tried to balance my checkbook, but just can’t get the numbers to add up correctly. What should I do?

If you have Microsoft Excel software, you can use our checking account balance calculator. Instructions are included in the file. If you don’t have Excel, you can download and print a checking account balancing form with the same helpful information (you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader). If you still have problems, call Member Services at 804-323-6800 or 800-285-6609 for help.

Are cancelled checks returned to me in my statement?

Paid checks are itemized on your monthly statement but are not sent to you with your statement. Paid checks can be viewed securely through online banking. If you ever need a copy of a particular check, the fee is only $1 per copy.
