Senior Vice President, Financial Education

During her 17 years at Virginia Credit Union, Cherry has developed and laid the groundwork for the Financial Success Team. As a certified teacher with a master's in education, Cherry has robust experience helping learners of all ages be the best they can be. Under her direction, our financial education programs reach over 100,000 annually.

Sabrina Guerin, CCUFC

Sabrina is passionate about enriching the lives in her community and giving people the support they need to reach their financial goals. With 10 years of financial education experience, Sabrina is a certified financial counselor through the Credit Union National Association and holds her MBA from The College of William and Mary. To Sabrina, being financially confident starts with having the right skills and tools to make smart financial decisions. Sabrina is a creative person at heart and in her free time loves being with her family and fur baby, as well as volunteering in the community.

Ashley Ratliff-Ives

Ashley is dedicated to helping individuals across Southwest Virginia build confidence in their financial decisions, reduce stress, and work toward long-term stability. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and credentials as a certified teacher and financial counselor, Ashley has a strong ability to translate complex financial topics into clear, practical guidance that people can easily understand and apply.

Christian Robinson

Christian brings over five years of experience as a high school English teacher and basketball coach to K-12 classrooms across the Commonwealth. Since graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University, he’s worked with students on every level, from collaborative special education to advanced placement. Christian is passionate about helping young people build strong financial foundations, bringing to life VACU’s mission of making financial literacy engaging, accessible, and impactful.

Angela Martin

As a dedicated community advocate, Angela is passionate about empowering others to reach their full potential. She actively supports individuals of all ages by teaching financial education and volunteering with local nonprofits to strengthen the communities she serves. Through her professional experience and community involvement, Angela is passionate about supporting and empowering others to reach their full potential. She is committed to promoting financial education and regularly volunteers with local nonprofit organizations to help strengthen the communities she serves. She holds an Associate of Arts in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications. Angela also serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA Gainsboro Express.

Chris Woodbury

Chris has 30 years of banking and financial experience and an impressive 25-year-long career with Virginia Credit Union.  Always wearing a smile, Chris loves creating relationships with people and encouraging them to achieve and succeed in their goals. He brings that energy to our members, community, and local school systems, recognizing it's never too early or late to achieve financial health.

Monica Van Arsdale, AFC®

Monica brings a refreshing, honest, and relatable voice to money management. With over 15 years of personal financial education experience, Monica meets people wherever they are on their financial journey. She is a licensed educator who has previously served on the Virginia Department of Education’s curriculum review committee for Economics and Personal Finance and currently serves on the board of the Virginia Jump$tart Coalition for Financial Literacy. As a former public school teacher and lifelong Virginia resident, Monica is committed to helping members and the community build a brighter tomorrow.
