Virginia Credit Union is now doing even more to help first-time home buyers offset the cost of purchasing a home with the new VACU First-Time Home Grant. With this enhanced commitment to helping members purchase their first home, the credit union has pledged $50,000 to provide up to $575 per loan in down payment assistance to qualified borrowers. The VACU First-Time Home Grant can be combined with other grants and discounts for further savings.Grant funds will be available starting March 1, 2024, and home buyers must meet specific income and other qualifications to be considered. VACU’s experienced mortgage loan officers connect borrowers with grants and down payment assistance programs and will leverage this additional VACU-sponsored grant to amplify assistance for those qualified. These experts are available to help buyers understand if they are eligible for this grant and/or other grant programs.“Often VACU first-time home buyers qualify for multiple grants offered through our partners.
