Wood School, is VACU’s Teacher of the QuarterJanuary 28, 2021 | Richmond, VA Michelle Jenkins, a special education science teacher, has been named a recipient of Virginia Credit Union’s Teacher of the Quarter award program.Ms. Jenkins teaches grades 6 – 12 at the John G. Wood School at the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls. The school is a private, nonprofit alternative school for youth who face challenges in succeeding in a public school setting.Ms. Jenkins was nominated for the award by a coworker, Melissa Mariner, who describes her coworker as “the most passionate teacher I have ever met who believes all children deserve love and someone who believes in them.
