Camecia Thomas, an English teacher at Park View High School in South Hill, Va., has been named a recipient of Virginia Credit Union’s Teacher of the Quarter award program.

According to Timothy Cochran, Assistant Principal at Park View, “Ms. Thomas is a real blessing. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help Park View students. During the past year, Ms. Thomas served as senior English teacher at the school and also co-taught a new course, Visual Storytellers, that challenged students to use their reading and writing skills in the real-world application of virtual media, social media and traditional media presentations.

“We believe that education is fundamental to success, and we are glad to recognize these gifted educators,” said Chris Shockley, Virginia Credit Union’s President/CEO. “It is exciting to hear the innovative ways teachers connect with students and share a love for learning in their classrooms.”
