Virginia Credit Union has once again been recognized as "The Best Credit Union" by both Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Virginia Credit Union has received this prestigious accolade from Richmond Magazine. The “Best of Central Virginia” ranking in Virginia Living Magazine included both banks and credit unions. Thousands of readers participated in the voting process, affirming the credit union's exceptional member service, confidence-inspiring technology, and unwavering commitment to financial education.

Chris Shockley, CEO of Virginia Credit Union, expressed gratitude for the community's continued trust and confidence in the credit union. "As a repeat winner in this category, we deeply appreciate our communities' confidence in Virginia Credit Union," said Shockley. "We're on a mission to help our members achieve their version of financial success, and we're deepening this commitment as we expand across the Commonwealth."

Virginia Credit Union continues to expand to better serve the community. This includes the opening of a new branch in the heart of Richmond’s Church Hill, a previously unbanked community. It joins the credit union's other recent openings in Richmond’s Arts District, Scotts Addition, and Carytown, further enhancing accessibility for members.

In addition to expanding physical locations, Virginia Credit Union remains dedicated to supporting financial wellness in the community through various financial education programs. One such program is RPS Saves, which provides financial literacy to students in Richmond Public Schools and kick starts their savings with a $20 deposit.

With over 320,000 members, Virginia Credit Union is a financial cooperative that offers a wide range of affordable banking services, loans, mortgages, and free financial education resources. The credit union's primary focus is to empower individuals and help them feel more confident about their finances. Virginia Credit Union is an equal housing opportunity lender and is federally insured by NCUA.
