Virginia Credit Union and its Member One division have donated a combined $7,500 to two organizations dedicated to supporting children and families in Southwest Virginia. The donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia reflect the credit union's ongoing commitment to strengthening communities through support of organizations focused on children's health and wellness.
"We are incredibly proud to support these valued partners, whose work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families throughout our region," said Tim Rowe, VACU’s Western Region Market President. "The care, concern, and commitment these organizations embody in pursuit of their unique missions mirror our own dedication to being a difference maker for our members and our communities.”
VACU and Member One focus their charitable giving and community engagement efforts on four key pillars: children's health and wellness, financial education, food security, and community well-being. This strategic focus enables the credit union to have greater impact in areas that most closely align with its mission and position as a trusted community partner.
The credit union's recent donations support the work of two longtime partners:
In 2025, Virginia Credit Union and its Member One division donated nearly $1.5 million to local charities and community organizations, invested $1.3 million in financial education initiatives, and contributed more than 2,100 volunteer hours to support nonprofits and community partners across Virginia.
