VACU Strikes Out Hunger with Contribution to Feed More

Virginia Credit Union presented a check for $6,300 to Feed More to help strikeout hunger in Central Virginia at the Diamond Thursday evening. Representatives of Feed More and volunteers and staff with Virginia Credit Union presented the check during the game against the Erie SeaWolves.

The contribution is part of Strike Out Hunger, a multi-year effort between the credit union, Feed More and the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

For every strikeout thrown by a Richmond Flying Squirrels pitcher, Virginia Credit Union makes a $5 donation. The program is in its seventh year. Combining Strike Out Hunger with other longstanding support, Virginia Credit Union has contributed more than $100,000 to Feed More in the last twenty years.

The Strike Out Hunger program calls attention to the important work Feed More does in the community. Feed More is Central Virginia's hunger-relief leader made up of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels and the Community Kitchen.

Members and employees of Virginia Credit Union also support Feed More through food collections, volunteer work days and other efforts.
