News & Events Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email VACU Makes Big Assist to Children’s Miracle NetworkFebruary 27, 2018 | Richmond, VA Virginia Credit Union presented a check for $15,500 to Children’s Miracle Network at the VCU Rams Feb. 24 basketball game against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.Under the ”VACU Assists” program, Virginia Credit Union makes a contribution to CMN each time the VCU Rams men’s and women’s basketball teams makes an assist on the court. Throughout 2017, Virginia Credit Union employees raised funds for Children’s Miracle Network through creative activities at work. Virginia Credit Union matches the employee fundraising total, and then adds to the total contribution based on the number of assists. With a few games remaining in the season, the $15,500 total is expected to grow even further. In the last five years, Virginia Credit Union and its employees have contributed more than $125,000 to advance pediatric health services at Children’s Hospital through research, training, and uncompensated care.Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and provides a full range of pediatric services for children. VACU’s support to the hospital is organized by a Community Outreach Committee of employees.
