financial confidence logo Virginia Credit Union is offering financial check-ups, free seminars, informational resources and budgeting tools to help consumers increase savings, reduce debt, and better understand their financial situation during Financial Confidence Month in April.

“Knowledge is the key to assessing your situation and making positive choices,” said Virginia Credit Union financial education director Cherry Dale. “We’d like to help members and the community gain greater confidence by gaining control of their finances.”

A few simple tips can help anyone improve their knowledge and sense of control. The recommendations include how to get a free copy of your credit report, preparing a budget, setting up an automatic savings program, attending a free financial education workshop and using automated services that help you keep tabs on accounts and avoid fees.
