Terry Edwards Named Teacher of the Month

Virginia Credit Union presented a $150 check to Terry Edwards, a kindergarten teacher at West Central Primary School in Fluvanna County as part of a “Teacher of the Month” promotion with the Charlottesville Radio Group and WQMZ 95.1 FM.

Edwards was chosen by a panel of judges after reading a nomination submitted by one of her students and his family. "She loves us,” the student said. “She teaches me how to read and add. She helps me tie my shoes. She helps us all the time."

Representatives of WQMZ Z95.1 Charlottesville visited Edwards in her classroom to present her with the check and related prizes.

The Teacher of the Month promotion has been a standing feature at WQMZ for more than 15 years and the sponsorship fits neatly with Virginia Credit Union’s focus on education for members and the community.
