VACU & Girls for a Change Featured on Virginia Currents
(Richmond, Virginia – Nov. 10, 2017) — A local nonprofit organization that Virginia Credit Union works with was featured on a public television program produced by the Community Idea Stations.
Girls For A Change, an organization that supports and inspires black girls and other girls of color to visualize their bright futures and potential, was featured on Virginia Currents
in early November.
The inspiring segment includes scenes of volunteers painting a mural in Jackson Ward, an event that Virginia Credit Union helped organize with participants from Girls For A Change in October. Video footage from a Teen Money Camp at Virginia Credit Union that members of the youth organization attended is also shown.
The mural project involved members and employees of the credit union, members of Girls For A Change and community volunteers organized through HandsOn Greater Richmond. The site is located along 1 Street at E. Broad Street in downtown Richmond. Learn more
