ATM Fee Rebates

We know every dollar counts. That’s why Virginia Credit Union pays you back for ATM fees charged by other financial institutions—up to $8 a month.

To take advantage of our ATM fee rebates, all you have to do is:

  • Use your debit card to make a withdrawal from checking
  • Have a qualifying direct deposit or 15 debit card purchase transactions that month?

We’ll automatically credit the ATM fees back to your account on the first business day of the following month. It’s just one of the many ways Virginia Credit Union helps you bank with confidence.

FAQs

Are there fees for using ATMs owned by other institutions?

There’s no network ATM fee from VACU for up to 4 checking withdrawals per month at other institutions’ ATMs. See the Fee Disclosure for more details about ATM fees. Other ATM owners may add their own ATM fees, but learn below how you can get rebates on those fees.

How can I qualify for rebates on others' ATM fees?

To receive rebates up to $8 per month, just be sure to use your debit card to make a withdrawal from checking and have either a qualifying direct deposit or 15 debit card purchase transactions that month.?

When are ATM fee rebates credited to my checking account?

Rebates up to a total of $8 per month for others' ATM fees are credited to eligible checking accounts on the first business day of the following month (after the fees were incurred). To receive rebates, checking accounts must also be open and in good standing at the time rebates are paid.

Because VACU is offering these ATM fee rebates, does that mean I don’t need to use VACU ATMs or Wawa and Sheetz ATMs?

Thank you for using fee-free VACU, Wawa and Sheetz ATMs or other cash alternatives when possible. You avoid ATM fees and you help your credit union control costs for the membership.

My husband and I each use a debit card for our joint checking account. Do we get ATM fee rebates up to $8 each or is it $8 total?

It’s $8 total for the account.

Do ATM fee rebates also apply to savings withdrawals at other ATMs?

No, only withdrawals from checking accounts with other qualifying activity are eligible for rebates. Consider opening a checking account with a debit card and qualifying direct deposit to become eligible.
