3 Keys to Staying Resolute with your Resolutions

The year 2018.

It seems like only yesterday that we were telling everyone Happy New Year, but it has actually been more than 50 days. If you’re like most people, you may find yourself no further along with your New Year’s Resolutions than when you ended 2017.

Whether your goals relate to fitness, relationships, happiness or self-esteem, it’s likely that there’s a financial component to each of them. So if success in reaching your goals seems elusive at this point, take time to re-evaluate. It’s never too late to begin. A fresh start now might have you starting to bloom right along with spring flowers and shrubs.

Spend time considering the things you are actually in control of, such as your energy. Allowing time for rest and exercise can have a huge impact on your state of mind, your overall outlook on life and your overall health.

Set and keep a schedule of things that you must get done during the day. Tackle the hard stuff first, and accept that it may take more than one day to get it done. Often, we do a poor job estimating the amount of time it takes to get through a particular task. That's why it is important to prioritize those things that are most important.

Take time to smell the roses in the great outdoors. It may give you a better perspective on how far you’ve come while working on your priorities.

  1. Develop a ‘time spent’ budget.
  2. Begin to prioritize your day.
  3. Set aside time to enjoy life.

These tips may help refocus your personal and financial goals at this waypoint in 2018. Personal health, financial freedom and a sense of emotional well-being go hand in hand, and the benefits can far exceed the growing balance in your bank account. Good Luck!
