VACU Employees Walk to End MS
(Richmond, VA, May 9, 2017) – Virginia Credit Union employees and their guests showed up in force for the Richmond Walk MS event on May 6.
Nearly 140 people from the credit union joined in the 3-mile walk to end Multiple Sclerosis in Innsbrook Saturday morning. The National MS Society holds events around the country to raise awareness and fund critical research and services for those affected by MS.
The VACU group joined approximately 2,000 others who came out on a cloudy and cool morning to show their support. Last year, the Richmond Walk MS raised more than $175,000 for the cause.
As a multi-event supporter of the Virginia-West Virginia Chapter of the National MS Society, Virginia Credit Union served as a sponsor for the Richmond event. VACU encouraged staff participation, and employees added nearly $2,500 on top of the credit union’s financial support. Virginia Credit Union will also participate in the upcoming Bike MS event on June 3 by fielding a team of riders.
A financial cooperative serving more than 254,000 members, Virginia Credit Union offers a variety of affordable banking services, loans, mortgages, and free financial education resources, with a focus on helping people be more confident with their finances. Virginia Credit Union is an equal housing opportunity lender and is federally insured by NCUA. For more information, visit www.vacu.org.
