VACU Plans a Larger Branch for Cosner’s Corner
(Richmond, Virginia – March 10, 2017) — Virginia Credit Union has acquired approximately two acres in Spotsylvania County for a larger branch near Cosner's Corner.
*Business conducted with Virginia CU Realty, LLC is separate and distinct from any business with VACU.
The site is located along Spotsylvania Parkway directly across from Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Plans are to construct a two-story, 11,000 square foot facility. A full-service branch will occupy the first floor, with offices for Virginia CU Realty*, Virginia Credit Union's wholly-owned full-service real estate company, on the second floor. The existing Cosner's Corner branch is in leased space in a shopping center which does not allow drive-thru service. The expanded branch will have multiple drive-thru lanes.
Construction is expected to begin before the end of 2017 with opening planned for late 2018.
The present Cosner's Corner location was opened in 2008. There are two VACU branches in Fredericksburg. The other is at 2150 Gordon Shelton Blvd. near the Central Park shopping area.
Building plans for the new Cosner's Corner location are similar to those for Hancock Village, a branch planned for western Chesterfield County along Hull Street Road expected to open by the end of the year or in early 2018.
