(Richmond, VA – February 1, 2016) -- Virginia Credit Union is listed in the February 2016 edition of Virginia Business magazine as one of the 2016 Best Places to Work in Virginia. The annual list of recognized workplaces was created by the magazine and the Best Companies Group.
The program honors employers for creating a positive work environment and achieving a high level of employee satisfaction. To make the Best Places list, organizations from across the state are evaluated on the basis of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, and demographics, as well as an employee survey. The combined scores are published in the February issue of Virginia Business.
Elsewhere in the issue, Virginia Credit Union is highlighted in an article on how technology is transforming banking for financial institutions and consumers. VACU’s chief information officer and executive vice president of data and digital innovation, Chris Saneda, is quoted on mobile technologies and the expanding options for consumers to make electronic payments and conduct business.
The February issue’s cover story on employee wellness also includes information about voluntary programs to encourage walking, water consumption and weight loss among VACU’s nearly 600 employees.
A member-owned financial cooperative with more than 248,000 members, Virginia Credit Union provides a variety of affordable banking services, loans and mortgages, checking and savings services, and financial education resources. Virginia Credit Union is federally insured by NCUA and is an equal housing opportunity lender.
