Jane Watkins inducted into Career and Technical Education Hall of Fame
(Richmond, VA, June 20, 2013) – Virginia Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer Jane G. Watkins has been inducted into the Virginia Career and Technical Education (CTE) Hall of Fame in recognition of her leadership in financial education and her support of career and technical education in the Commonwealth.
Watkins is an active member of the Virginia CTE Advisory Committee and a board director of the Virginia Council on Economic Education. In addition, the credit union’s contributions to the Virginia Council on Economic Education helped provide curricula and funding for a series of week-long training events for teachers held at colleges and universities across Virginia.
Watkins received the honor at a luncheon on June 13. The other inductees were U.S. Senator Timothy M. Kaine and Robert A. Almond of the Virginia Department of Education.
