(Richmond, VA – Jan. 3, 2014) -- Virginia Credit Union has been recognized with a First Place Award in the statewide Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility recognition program for credit unions. Virginia Credit Union was honored for its mentoring partnership with Fred D. Thompson Middle School in the City of Richmond.

The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award is sponsored by the Virginia Credit Union League and the Credit Union National Association.
A member-owned financial cooperative with more than 229,000 members, Virginia Credit Union provides a variety of affordable banking services, loans and mortgages, checking and savings services, and financial education resources.
