5K event at the Boulders Office Park
(Richmond, VA, September 9, 2013) – Employees and family members from Virginia Credit Union will run, walk and raise money for a good cause when the Amazing Raise 5K comes to the Boulders Office Park on Sept. 18.
The Amazing Raise is a community-wide effort hosted by the Community Foundation to boost support for local charities through friendly competition. The Amazing Raise generated more than 15,000 gifts and raised more than $1.2 million for local charities last year. The new 5K event is designed to involve even more people in the Amazing Raise in 2013.
Virginia Credit Union is a Gold Sponsor for the 5K event, which will start and finish just steps from the credit union’s administrative office building. To date, 53 runners and walkers have signed up for the VACU Team. Most are employees, but the number also includes some friends and family members. VACU’s 5K team supports the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Richmond. Potential team prizes will advance pediatric health services by supporting research, training, and covering the costs of uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, our region’s local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Virginia Credit Union employees chose the hospital through an employee-directed Community Outreach Committee.
