Telephone Scams
Phone scam
artists call potential victims and try to trick them into sharing
personal information by posing as a reputable company that
you recognize. Recently caller ID spoofing has emerged
as a tool for criminals to make it appear that they are calling
from a bank or other financial institution.
That helps them convince consumers to divulge account numbers,
passwords and other sensitive information.
