Why should I use the Dell Member Purchase Program?

Why should I use the Dell Member Purchase Program?
When you choose the Dell Member Purchase Program, you receive:

• Convenient order-taking system

What is the difference between the Dell Member Purchase Program and Dell Home Sales?
The Member Purchase Program offers members of Virginia Credit Union a discount on select Dell PCs and laptops that is not available through Dell Home Sales.

I recently purchased a computer from Dell Home Sales, before I noticed I was eligible for the discount program. Can I get the difference credited back to me?
Dell manages Dell Home Sales and Member Purchase Program Sales as completely different business units. Therefore, credits or refunds cannot be applied to purchases made from Dell Home Sales.

However, if you have made a purchase from Member Purchase Program Sales and did not receive your discount, adjustments can be made to your Dell account.

I already have a customer number from a past purchase. Can I use this same customer number for my new purchase?
Unfortunately you will not be able to use the same customer number for a new purchase through the Dell Member Purchase Program. Because the Member Purchase Program is a separate Dell business unit, a new customer number will be created for you.

If you give the Dell representative your old customer number, you may be transferred back to Dell Home Sales unit and not receive your discount.

I built a system on the Dell Home Sales web site and built a system on the Member Purchase Program web site, and my price comes out cheaper in Dell Home Sales. Why is that?
Make sure that when you are building systems on both web sites, everything you select is identical on both systems. Even one or two differences could cause your price to be higher on the Member Purchase Program web site.

In some cases there are some configurations on the Dell Home Sales page that are not on the Member Purchase Program page. In this case, the Member Purchase Program prices will always be 2-6% lower then Dell Home Sales. If you are having issues with this, please call the Dell Member Purchase Program at (877) 336-2809 and a representative will apply the discount to your system.

How can I receive a 12% discount when I order my system from the web site?
You can receive a 2-6% discount based on the level of system chosen, then double your discount when you purchase a 3 or 4 year warranty on your computer system — up to 12% off.

I saw an advertisement in the newspaper for a system available through Dell Small Business. Can I apply my discount to that price?
Dell has many different sales units that cater to the special needs of certain customers. Those units use different pricing structures and promotions, which your discount will not apply to. The Member Purchase Program uses the same pricing structure and promotions as Dell Home Sales and Home Office Sales, and applies the discount, up to 12%, to this price.

I saw a section on the web site that refers to refurbished machines. Can I use my discount on a refurbished PC?
The Dell Member Purchase Program does not apply to refurbished PCs. These machines have discounted pricing because they are refurbished computers. Many times you are able to purchase a brand new computer with your discount at the same price or even lower than a refurbished computer.
