Board of Directors
Application and Nomination Process

As members-owners, you elect a Board of Directors to represent you. All Board members are volunteers who
receive no compensation for their time.

Members interested in serving on the Board may submit an application to the Nominating Committee.

To be eligible for consideration for nomination to the Board, a candidate must be a Virginia Credit Union member. He or she must be willing and able to make a personal commitment through consistent attendance and active participation at Board and committee meetings and educational sessions. Additional details are included with the application package.

If you would like to be considered as a candidate for the volunteer Board of Directors, please contact Fay Browning at fay.browning@vacu.org or call (804) 560-5619 or (800) 285-5051, ext. 5619. She will send you an application package once it becomes available in the summer for the Board election the following spring.

To be considered by the Nominating Committee, interested members must submit their applications by the published deadline listed in the application package. The Nominating Committee then reviews applications and communicates with nominees.

Early the following year, the membership receives information about the individuals who will be presented as nominees by the Nominating Committee.  Members will vote on the nominees at the Annual Meeting in the spring. To allow for this advance notice about the nominees, there are no nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
