VACU is converting our deposit-taking ATMs to accept cash and checks without envelopes and deposit slips. These enhancements are targeted for completion by the end of 2011.

Our image-enabled Envelope-Free ATMs will scan your checks and add up your cash for you. No more filling out forms or stuffing envelopes. No need to remember your account numbers or carry deposit slips.

Here’s how it works.

To deposit cash,

1. Simply insert a stack of up to 50 bills flat, in any direction, into the cash deposit slot.
   
2. The ATM automatically reads and counts each denomination of bills deposited.
   
3. Your total cash amount appears on the screen. Other details including the number and bill denominations appear on your receipt.
   

To deposit checks,

1. Simply insert your check into the check deposit slot face up. The ATM scans your check and shows you the scanned image on screen. Manually enter the amount of the check for instant verification.
2. Repeat this for each check you wish to deposit. When you’re done, the ATM adds up all the check amounts for you on your receipt.
   
3. Your receipt lists each check you deposited. You may choose to either have check images printed on your receipt (with sensitive information blocked out) or print just a summary of the deposit.
   

Of course, you can still do all the other functions you currently do at VACU ATMs, such as:

• make withdrawals
• make balance inquiries
• transfer funds
• change your debit card PIN
